Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections are a powerful tool for rejuvenation: healthier skin, reduced wrinkles and dark circles.

What is it?

PRP is a skin regenerating medical technique which uses the patient's own blood to produce plasma enriched with platelets, growth factors and stem cells. Once re-injected beneath the patient-donor’s skin, it accelerates normal healing processes by stimulating collagen formation, revascularization and repair. This explains why PRP provides a gradual increase in skin thickness and vitality. Because of its regenerative properties, PRP was initially performed in the fields of reconstructive surgery and sport medicine; the technique was more recently introduced in aesthetic medicine with great success

What is the procedure?

The doctor samples a small quantity of the patient’s own blood and immediately centrifuges it in order to extract the plasma concentrated in platelets. This plasma is then injected by mesotherapy in the areas requiring treatment. A PRP session lasts approximately 1 hour.

What can be treated?

Number of sessions?

For optimal results, we recommend 3 sessions spread over 2 months.

Side effects?

Because it is autologous, PRP induces particularly few side effects. Slight redness, swelling and bruising may occur immediately after the treatment, but will fade away over the following days.

Results?

PRP offers a very natural rejuvenating effect. Around 2 to 3 months after the first treatment the skin becomes suppler and more toned, less wrinkly, and its complexion is rosier, particularly around the eyes as dark circles are brightened. When injected in the deep dermis, PRP also has a volumizing action. To ensure the skin’s long term regeneration, a series of maintenance sessions should be regularly carried-out.
